CHINSALI – UCZ MUCHINGA PRESBYTERY: 07/04/2026-The United Church of Zambia (UCZ) Muchinga Presbytery has continued to make steady progress on the development of the Mweye Investment Centre in Chinsali, a strategic initiative aligned with the UCZ Synod Investment Policy aimed at promoting sustainability and long-term value creation.
The project, which includes the construction of 12 chalets at the Mweye Conference Site, has currently reached approximately 70% completion. This milestone reflects the Presbytery’s commitment to strengthening infrastructure that supports both church programs and income generating activities.
Key developments have already been achieved under the current phase. A borehole has been successfully drilled, ensuring a reliable water supply, while electricity has also been connected to the site. These foundational elements mark significant progress toward making the centre fully operational.
As the project moves into Phase 2, attention will focus on completing the remaining works. These include internal and external electrical wiring, plumbing installations, wall and floor tiling, installation of doors and ceilings, as well as final painting works. Upon completion, the chalets will provide quality accommodation for conferences, retreats, and other events.
The Mweye Investment Centre is a demonstration of the Presbytery’s commitment to implementing the Synod’s investment framework by developing projects that are both mission driven and financially sustainable.
The Church leadership in Muchinga Presbytery has reaffirmed its dedication to completing the project and has called for continued support from stakeholders and well-wishers to ensure the successful realization of this important development.
Once completed, the Mweye Conference Site is expected to serve as a key hub for gatherings while also contributing to the Presbytery’s long-term economic sustainability.
