LUSAKA – St John’s Congregation 27/07/2026The United Church of Zambia (UCZ) has inducted Rev. Davies Sikazwe Kasonso as Senior Internal Auditor and Compliance Officer at Synod, with church leaders calling on him to uphold integrity, humility and faithfulness in the discharge of his duties.
Speaking as Guest of Honour, Mrs. Edna Hachuba reminded Rev. Kasonso that while Synod had entrusted him with the new responsibility, his first calling remains that of a minister of the Word and Sacrament.
She urged him never to lose sight of his pastoral calling, encouraging him to carry out his responsibilities with humility and excellence.
“Serve by truth rather than pressure. Be strong, be prayerful and stand on the truth,” she said.
Preaching from Isaiah 6:1–8 under the theme, “Whom Shall I Send, and Who Will Go for Us?”, UCZ General Secretary Rev. Dr. Chipasha Musaba challenged the congregation to remain faithful to God in every assignment.
Rev. Dr. Musaba said faithfulness to God is the foundation of lasting success, reminding Rev. Kasonso that pride has no place in Christian leadership and that leaders should be willing to acknowledge their mistakes and seek forgiveness when they are wrong.
He further encouraged him not to allow obstacles or distractions to hinder his calling, but to remain focused on God, emphasizing that steadfast obedience and dependence on God are essential for effective ministry and service.
