The Administration Department of the United Church of Zambia is responsible for ensuring the smooth and effective day-to-day operations of the Synod offices. The department is headed by Professor Alivetti Mwale and plays a central role in supporting all Synod departments through efficient administrative and human resource services.
The department plans, organizes, coordinates, and controls the distribution of equipment and office requirements, while also providing essential support services including office cleaning, housing, travel, and reception services. In addition, it administers and interprets the conditions of service for employees, ensuring compliance with established policies and promoting fair and transparent human resource practices.
As the department in charge of Human Resource management, the Administration Department oversees staff welfare, personnel records, and workplace standards, contributing to a productive and professional working environment. Through its work, the department supports the effective delivery of the Church’s mission and the smooth functioning of the United Church of Zambia Synod operations.
As of February 2026, the Administration Department is supported by a dedicated team that ensures the efficient running of daily operations at the Synod Headquarters. The department’s secretarial team comprises Ms. Patricia Chikwemba, Ms. Ruth Tembo, and Ms. Salome Nalungwe and Mrs Isabel Makanga, who provide essential administrative and coordination support.
The department is further strengthened by its drivers, Mr. Felix Luo, Mr. Katongo Perviors, Mr. Joseph Mulenga, and Mr. Anthony Simusika, who facilitate official travel and logistical operations.
Supporting the upkeep and cleanliness of Synod facilities is the cleaning team, made up of Mr. Joseph Sakala, Mr. Rodgers Mpunga, Ms. Nora Chanda, and Mr. Geofery Mofya, ensuring a clean, safe, and welcoming working environment.
Together, the Administration Department team plays a vital role in supporting the human resource and operational needs of the United Church of Zambia.
