The United Church of Zambia (UCZ) National Student Fellowship, under the Synod Mission and Evangelism Department, has carried out a mission outreach programme in Mbereshi District of Luapula Province, combining evangelism, health services, and community support.

The outreach was led by National Chairperson Mr. Kasenge Sinyinza, alongside Financial Secretary Mr. Benson Simpungwe and Student Mission and Evangelism Secretary Mr. Andrew Chiona. The team comprised students drawn from the Copperbelt, Lusaka, and Central Presbyteries, who converged in Mbereshi with a shared commitment to serve Christ through service.

During the visit, the students made a donation to Mbereshi Mission Hospital. Receiving the donation, Hospital Administrator Rev. Webster Milanzi expressed gratitude to the Fellowship, describing the support as timely. He, meanwhile, provided a brief background of the hospital and outlined some of its key challenges, including aging infrastructure, limited funding, and inadequate staffing levels, noting that partnerships such as this are vital to sustaining the institution’s operations.

Speaking at the same event, Mr. Sinyinza commended the students for their selfless spirit and dedication to mission work. He assured the hospital administration of the Fellowship’s continued support and revealed plans for future outreach activities. He further indicated that the National Student Fellowship is open to partnerships aimed at addressing staffing challenges and expanding mission outreach services within the community.

Beyond the donation, the students actively served the local community by offering basic health services such as eye screening and health promotion. They also conducted door-to-door evangelism, sharing the Gospel with households across the area. A crusade was later held, during which the Good News of Christ was preached, and additional donations were distributed to those in need.

Meanwhile, as part of the visit, the students were given an opportunity to tour Ntumbachushi Falls, a renowned national monument, an experience facilitated by Rev. Milanzi that allowed the team to appreciate the natural heritage of the area.
